The testing center scheduled to open at 9am. Arrived at 7:40. There were people already lined up around the building down the sidewalk.
Took a place at the back of the line. Saw a lady arrive shortly after with a small, red plastic chair in hand. Wished I had brought one too because I was sure it was going to be at least a few hours.
At around 9, the line starts moving backwards. A woman in protective garb directed everybody to increase spacing among our ranks. It worked for a short spell, but the line eventually closed back in on itself.
The same woman made another round through the herd. This time she was also handing out numbered slips of paper to be filled out. Good thing I brought a pen.
Once the line started moving forward, the wait was much shorter than expected. There were lines of green tape spaced about a meter apart on the ground near the testing area.
Once I reached the first table, I used the hand santizer and put on the plastic gloves that were provided.
Was told to have the slip of paper and my Alien Resident Card (ARC) out and ready.
There were workers at the second table that took the slip of paper I had filled out, looked at my ARC and directed me to duplicate the information on a larger form, with one addition. In addition to my birthdate, they wanted my age. There was a chart with years and ages as a reference.
The workers at the third table took the form I filled out and jotted my phone number on a sticker. This sticker was then attached to a plastic, capped vial which they handed to me and motioned to the testing area.
The tester told me to step forward and lower my mask. He made the Ah sound to prompt me to open my mouth for an oral swab. I do not remember seeing what he did with it. Because by the time I lowered my eyes I saw him opening another sealed swab. That was the one that went up my nose.
The queue time at the very beginning and walking out the fenced area to the parking lot took around two and a half hours.
I got my results via text message the next day.
